Background
My primary interests lie in advancing prediction, explanation, and control in psychiatric problems, with a current focus on affective and neurodevelopmental challenges and their intersections. My doctoral research explored the complex interplay and centrality of biopsychosocial factors underlying mood and anxiety dimensions/disorders, including evolutionary constraints and vulnerabilities involved in cognitive control and affective dysregulation. This work and future directions aim to address challenges in better explicating evolutionary/proximal explanations in various psychiatric disorders, transdiagnostic mechanisms, dynamic system frameworks, and synergistic applications of statistics and AI to understand these problems. Currently, I am utilizing large-scale data to investigate how well current biopsychosocial measurements hierarchically predict mood and depression – to disentangle their relative contributions and interactions. One of my centrals interests is improving and creating novel psychometrics in research for better prediction and explanation in psychiatry. I am also involved in projects examining the efficacy and predictors of treatment interventions for Social Anxiety Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and Autism. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to discuss possibilities for collaboration or if you have any questions.
