Researching the Attributes of Reading Education Response Study (READER)

The READER Study is designed to help us understand what happens in a child’s brain as they develop reading skills in elementary school. We will measure brain and behavior changes from the beginning to the end of the school year to see how both good readers and struggling readers respond to instruction.

What is my commitment?

Total participation in this study will consist of three to four online sessions with a researcher at the beginning of the school year and two to three online sessions at the end of the school year. All sessions consist of standardized and non standardized assessments of reading, language, and cognition.

We are happy to schedule study visits around your schedule, including weekday evenings and weekends.

Participation: We are currently recruiting students in second through fourth grade to participate in this study.

Compensation

You will be paid for participating in all portions of our study at a rate of $20 per hour. All participants will receive a detailed report from the behavioral assessments.
