Background
Alexandra (Lexi) Decker is interested in how we attend, learn and remember, with a particular focus on dynamic changes in these aspects of cognition over time. What factors modulate cognitive processes to explain why we perform so well in certain moments but not others? How does variability in cognitive performance change as the brain develops and ages? How can we increase the frequency of good cognitive states in healthy and clinical populations? By deciphering the factors that modulate cognitive processes in each moment, she aims to develop methods to improve cognition in both healthy and clinical samples.
