This project examines how different forms of structured physical activity relate to student well-being. Can the way you move change the way you think?
By participating, you will help researchers advance understanding of how structured physical education and movement practices support student wellness and academic success.
Depending on your study group, you may participate in: Intro to Kuchipudi, a traditional Indian classical dance; Intro to Archery; or A passive control group, which involves no participation in a movement-based PE&W course.
You may not be eligible to participate if you have formal or structured prior training in Kuchipudi, another Indian classical dance style, or archery; or if you are concurrently enrolled in another MIT PE course during the scheduled six-week study period.
Participation: To participate in this study you must:
– Be a current undergraduate student, graduate student, or post-doc at MIT.
– Be at least 18 years of age.
– Be willing and available to follow the six-week study schedule and, if enrolled in Intro to Kuchipudi or Archery, attend PE sessions twice per week.
– Demonstrate adequate comprehension of this consent form through a brief 3–5 minute comprehension survey.
