Guusje received her MD from the University of Utrecht, the Netherlands, in 2010. After finishing Medical School, she combined research as a PhD-candidate in the Dutch Connectome Lab, Brain Center Rudolf Magnus, with clinical work as a Resident in Psychiatry at the University Medical Center Utrecht. After completing her thesis in 2015, she worked as a post-doc on the Dutch Bipolar and Schizophrenia Offspring study. In 2017, she moved to Boston to work as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Psychiatry of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School. Her project focuses on Brain Network Analysis in Emerging Schizophrenia and is funded by an EU – Marie Curie Global Fellowship. Guusje joined the Gabrieli Lab as a Research Affiliate in April 2017 to work with Sue Whitfield-Gabrieli on Functional Connectome Analysis.
